The CSSE department policy prohibits counting more than 4 units of independent study courses toward your MS or BMS degree.  This includes CSC-400, CPE-400, CSC-500, CPE-500, and any co-op units that are otherwise degree applicable.  It also includes capstone units taken either standalone or as part of a minor.  If you have questions about how this policy applies to a course you want to count, or believe your specific circumstances merit an exception to the policy, ask the graduate coordinator.
